Friend Time.

Sometimes Laura comes over and I make her dinner and then we talk about every single thing under the sun. I LOVE Laura. She is one of those friends I can be completely myself around. And we look like a couple in this picture which makes me laugh for days. (we made Curt take this pic. guess how excited he was about that??)

Tonight I made roasted carrot, sweet potato and red potato soup, SO easy and SO delish. Then we made Valentiney sugar cookies! Laura is so serious about decorating cookies that she brought tweezers! Tweezers that she only uses to decorate cookies, to pick up tiny sprinkles! I love it so much!

While she was here we talked about the 5 love languages (I just read the book for my book club) we talked about how our husbands or partners or whatev usually fulfill one of our love languages but how great it is to have girlfriends to fulfill your other love languages. For instance, words of affirmation, as girls we are really good at saying how great each other looks, how talented each other are, and how all around awesome we are. I am so happy to have so many great girlfriends to fulfill my love needs, ha!

I decided February is the worst with one awesome day- Valentines. Looking forward to my traditional family Valentines dinner, what foods can possibly be made heart shaped??

Cabin!

The sun setting on our drive back from West Yellowstone, it was so beautiful in real life.
Deacon is very serious about relaxing at the cabin.

Two cowboys in cowboy hats from 1912 probably.

Some delicious french fries in West Yellowstone, the boys were very excited about them.

The best two bucks I spent on the whole trip.
Me and my little buckaroo in front of a beautiful old run down building a mile or so from our cabin. Notice my boots?

Deacon and Alfie running as fast as they could down the dirt road leading up to the cabin.

The two little buddies. Each morning we were there they would wake up pleased as pie that they were in the same big loft as each other. One morning Deacon woke me up with the biggest grin on his face and said "look Alfie!" It makes me so happy to see my child being friends with my friends children.

These boots were my great grandma Maxines. My Grandpa said I could have them since they fit me (well fit with a little pain but totally worth it.) and noone else has ever asked for them. They are and will forever be one of my most prized possesions. Look for me in them all fall.
As for Curtis, he spent the cabin trip sleeping the day away and playing poker almost the whole night. It was perfect for everyone.
I love going to My families Cabin in Island Park Idaho, I have been going for as long as I can remember and it gets better as I get older. We ate way too much cooked some yummy dinners and stayed up too late! Annie and I got up one morning and ran about four miles down the snake river, it was so gorgeous I loved it. I can not wait to go back up with my family in a couple weeks and do the same run. Overall we had a blast and I am so glad we got to share it with our friends.

Hawaii, Finally!

I have been on three trips with Matt and each has resulted in a sunburn, this is the best one yet.
Nothin says "hot bikini babes" like a white convertable. And nothing says "kick butt dudes" like a jeep wrangler which is what they drove. Hilarious.

We logged lots of hours laying on the beach listening to music from Kris' ipod which Curt dubbed "yacht rock" you can imagine what kind of music that was. But the beach was unbelievable, so fun.

The view from our hotel room, I ran on that little path almost every morning down to the beach. We kept on our training schedule while there and eight miles is still rough even in Hawaii.

We had so much fun eating good food, throwing the football in the ocean (especially when Curt hit Matt directly in the eye) and laying out til we were Maui Babes.

The Ronald Mcdonald House

BEFORE!!

AFTER!

I am full of warm fuzzy feelings today, how could I not be! We had so much fun redoing a room at the Ronald Mcdonald house. I can not say thankyou enough times to everyone who helped. We had a photographer, artist writer donut delivery girl, errand runner, furniture painter, expert wall fixture hanger. So many talented people! At the end of the day an old women who works at the house came to look at the room and she said "I have worked her for twenty years and I have never seen anything like this! It makes my heart swell!" We could not have had a better compliment. I wish I had a picture of all the girls who painted the night before so we could have a jump start on today! I can not wait to do this again next year! Find your own way to spread holiday cheer, it is well worth your time!

Best buddies

We could not get a picture of them all day so finally
I just had to scoop them up!

Getting ready for the pool

My Ball!
Alfie loving Duke

Annie and I are kindreds. We only met four years ago but we were meant to be. Our little guys were born just 6 weeks apart and the whole time we were pregnant we planned out their lives as best buds. We had a great day swimming and playing together. And even though Alfie snatched a ball out of Deacons hands and said "My ball" we still love him and he can come play any old time. Not to mention that I love some good Annie- Sophie chit chat.
