The Cabin

Isaac and Grandma with the kids at Big springs.
I love this picture because it really depicts the dynamic between Deacon and Will. Will adores Deacon and thinks he is so funny, look at him laughing at whatever nonsense Deacon is up to.
Speaking of Will, he is at the best age, so funny and cute and usually always in a good mood.
The kids playing and eating some grapes.
Deacon at Big springs.
This is my favorite hour I spent at the cabin. It was a huge rainstorm and The kids all cuddles up to me and Deacon falls asleep, that never happens.
This also never happens, Isaac and I sitting next to each other at meal time. It is a long standing tradition that we sit miles away from each other at meals, we broke barriers that weekend.
This is at the paint pots, which for the record are not awesome.
The kids getting a little impatient waiting for Old Faithful.
One morning I went running and Deacon was sad when Lesley and Amelia told him where I went and he kept saying " I wanna go for a run!" So for the rest of the weekend I would take him outside for a run. He would walk for a minute and then say to me "Lets go for a run!" run for thirty seconds and then say " I a good runner! Lets walk today. We can run amorrow." Pretty cute.

A highlight of my summers is visiting our family cabin in Idaho. Pulling in to the dirt road always makes me happy. This trip to the cabin was even better because the Scots came! It was a mad house jam packed with fun. I was so glad I got to go and had so much fun laughing and hanging out with my family. Especially loves almost making Amelia pee her pants from laughing so hard.

Last cabin trip this Summer

Kicking the soccer ball for hours down the long dirt road.
Eating his nighly ice cream with Grandma out of the 100 year old tiny yellow bowls.
The outside of the cabin, love the Orme sign.

Painting with Grandma, he was constantly requesting to color.
On the top of Mt. Sawtelle. Scariest drive up with the most amazing 360 view.
Deacon not wanting to walk but not wanting to be carried, Will being an angel.
Chasing Grandma and Duke down the dirt road, he loved this.
I love this baby! So sweet. We laughed because when Lesley would check on him at night he would always be just fine and asleep but somehow each time Isaac checked on him he would come back with Will in his arms, we think he just wanted to play with him.
At big springs looking at some huge fish or as deacon thought, sharks, they really are that big!
Reading the cute boys a story after my evening run, too sweet.
I love the clouds in this picture, Grandma Papa and Deacon.
Deacon loving a poodle puppy at the antique show, is this puppy an antique?
Goodbye summer, we will miss you. In the wise words of Deacon "Love you cabin."

Cabin!

The sun setting on our drive back from West Yellowstone, it was so beautiful in real life.
Deacon is very serious about relaxing at the cabin.

Two cowboys in cowboy hats from 1912 probably.

Some delicious french fries in West Yellowstone, the boys were very excited about them.

The best two bucks I spent on the whole trip.
Me and my little buckaroo in front of a beautiful old run down building a mile or so from our cabin. Notice my boots?

Deacon and Alfie running as fast as they could down the dirt road leading up to the cabin.

The two little buddies. Each morning we were there they would wake up pleased as pie that they were in the same big loft as each other. One morning Deacon woke me up with the biggest grin on his face and said "look Alfie!" It makes me so happy to see my child being friends with my friends children.

These boots were my great grandma Maxines. My Grandpa said I could have them since they fit me (well fit with a little pain but totally worth it.) and noone else has ever asked for them. They are and will forever be one of my most prized possesions. Look for me in them all fall.
As for Curtis, he spent the cabin trip sleeping the day away and playing poker almost the whole night. It was perfect for everyone.
I love going to My families Cabin in Island Park Idaho, I have been going for as long as I can remember and it gets better as I get older. We ate way too much cooked some yummy dinners and stayed up too late! Annie and I got up one morning and ran about four miles down the snake river, it was so gorgeous I loved it. I can not wait to go back up with my family in a couple weeks and do the same run. Overall we had a blast and I am so glad we got to share it with our friends.
