Whenever I hear the song of a bird

At night when I have finally got Deacon to climb into bed, we have said goodnight to the moon outside his window and found whatever toy he is dying to sleep with. Each night is something different, last week it was a picture of a mouse Curtis drew for him last night it was a toy car tonight it was a stuffed "if you give a mouse a cookie" mouse. Then I try and sing him a song or two. If he is not into the song he lets you know by saying "No mommy" and pushing me away. But one song he never says no to is also my very favorite primary song ever. Of all time.

Whenever I hear the song of a bird
Or look at the blue blue sky
Whenever I feel the rain on my face
Or the wind as it rushes by
Whenever I touch a velvet rose
Or walk by my lilac tree
Im glad that I live in this beautful world
Heavenly Father created for me

Wait, did you know the second verse? I love it even more than the first.

He gave me eyes so I might see
the color of butterfly wings
He gave me my ears that I might hear
the magical sound of things
He gave me my life my mind my heart
I thank him reverently
For all these creations of which Im a part
Yes I know Heavenly Father loves me

And then Deacon promptly says "no Mommy" and I am kicked out of his bed.

That's really cute Soph! By the time he has to sing it in primary, he will know all the words.

I've always loved that song too. My girls always love "The Cowboy Song" (Sweet Baby James) although I do change it to "thinkin' bout women and glases of root beer" Because I am nerdy like that.
